It’s all eyes on model Cormac Murphy, and we can’t stop staring at him either.
New York City is crawling with aspiring models, but model Cormac Murphy is the one guy we can’t stop thinking about. This hot, Irish native is the newest face making waves across the east coast.
After living in Australia for a few years, Cormac moved to NYC to take his modeling career to the next level. He recently finished shooting a collection with Differio, as their new face for their next campaign. On his down time, you’ll most likely catch him staying in shape for his next gig. But what model isn’t, right?
We had the chance to get some insight on his current and future plans. From what’s in his closet to how he stays lean, here’s a little glimpse of why he’s one of the hottest guys in the modeling industry right now.
What inspired you to start modeling?
Even before I did any modeling, I was always asked, “Did I do any modeling before?” or “Would I like to do any modeling?”. Male modeling back in Ireland is definitely very limited. It’s more on Instagram or for girls, ages 15-22, unless you’re living in Dublin. But even at that, it is very limited.
Once I started working in bars, you meet more people and I kept getting asked the same question, “What are you doing on the side? Are you acting? Are you modeling?”.
So, I started working on my Instagram more, and recently started working with some different photographers as well. Brian Jaime would be one. He works with a lot of top models and top agencies. He has a pretty big following on Instagram as well. The feedback is good so far. No complaints.
How would you describe your everyday style?
I get a lot of my tips off of Instagram models and men’s fashion sites, but mainly Instagram. I follow a lot of UK guys. Joss Mooney. Alex Cannon. Steve Cook.
What item in your closet do you wear all the time (aside from the obvious)?
I like skinny jeans. I get a lot of my skinny jeans online, but I have like two or three specific pairs that I wear a lot. When wintertime comes, I wear my Timberlands a lot, too.
What’s your favorite workout?
The workouts I do are mainly the bodybuilding type. I used to play rugby, so any workouts we did were with weights. I like to stay lean, so I do a lot of high intensity training (HIIT) workouts.
What are your favorite foods, and least favorite foods?
Favorite food: pizza. And least favorite food… I have a big appetite, so I can eat. I’m not afraid to try any food. I’ll eat whatever. Something I don’t really like is calamari. Actually, anything slimy. I’ll still try it, but I wouldn’t jump at it.
What are the top 3 things on your bucket list besides modeling?
I was actually just talking about this with someone the other day. Skydiving… Diving with sharks in a tank… I’ve been to Thailand, but I’d like to go to Bali. Bali would definitely be on my bucket list. I’ll get there eventually.
