Designers debuted an assortment of headbands for men at Milan Fashion Week that were actually stylish enough for suits.
From Pucci to Gucci, this year’s Milan Fashion Week came and went with plenty of drama that swept social media. You’ve probably already heard about the Cyrus’ Twitter feud with D&G and how every collection was inspired by the millennial generation. As much as the buzz is starting to die down, we noticed no one’s talking about these glorious headbands for men.
Apparently, you need a suit in order to pull off a headband in 2017. At least that’s the way Emporio Armani, Christian Pellizzari and Malibu 1992 are styling them. Headbands for men might not be as bizarre as Westwood’s penis jewelry, but it’s definitely giving the traditional suit a major makeover.
Usually they’re worn with ties and leather loafers, but this year’s designers ditched the traditional stuff. Instead, models rocked the runway in slide sandals and sneakers. Each designer created a unique look that was youthful and casual. It’s as if they were trying to tell us that it’s not a fashion faux pas to wear a suit at the beach.
This “headband and suit” trend is perfect for men that hate wearing ties or love wearing hair accessories.
If you’re dying to try this trend, all you need is a suit, headband and a pair of sneakers (or sandals). We recommend going for a bright or patterned blazer. The key is to look like you’re not trying too hard. You can do this by keeping your shirt and blazer unbuttoned. Be sure to choose a headband that matches the style of your suit.
The best part is you don’t even need long hair to pull off headbands for men. So even if you’re bald, this trend is still worth trying.
